Hello, welcome to that voice podcast. I'm Sally Prosser, former TV reporter, former PR pro, and currently on a mission to help you find your voice and speak with confidence no matter who you are or what you do, your voice matters. So unless you've sworn lifetime value of silence, this is the podcast for you. Now you might be a little bit surprised to hear my voice this week. I know I said last week was the final in the solo series, but you may have heard I've opened the doors to my six week voice. Make-over woo. And I've been getting a fair few questions. So I wanted to jump on and answer them here for you. So a bit about the course, my six week voice make-over surprise, surprise. It's six weeks. And over that time, we delve into the six fundamentals. You need to make an impact every time you speak.

So what does that mean? Every time you speak? This is one of the great things about the course. The stuff that we go through is applicable to every single speaking scenario. And it leads me into the very first question. I've got five questions to go through.

ONE: is this course right for me? who is this course for?

Well, this course is for business owners, corporate professionals, people who have voice as an important part of their job and anybody else who wants to combat their fear of public speaking and improve the way they speak. So let's talk about business owners for a minute. If this is you, you're probably wanting to grow your personal brand. Make, instead of stories, reels, uh, videos on all the other social platforms, you're doing sales calls, you're going to networking events. You might have a podcast, want a podcast or want to be on podcasts, but there's lots of situations where you are physically using your voice to promote your business.

So many areas where you are. So this course will help with every single one of those scenarios. If you're a corporate professional, you might want to speak up more confidently at meetings and not just have the courage to speak up, but have influence. And to, into those conversations, with a voice that people stop and listen to, especially on zoom, you know, it can be really hard to hear who's talking and the dominant voices can really monopolize the meetings. So if you want cut-through, this course will help you. There. You may lead a team. You want to have influence over your team and it's not just managing down. It's also managing up. Can you promote yourself to your managers? Can you promote your team? Are you getting asked to speak at conferences? Is voice an important part of your job? Are you a teacher, a marriage celebrant, a workshop facilitator, a real estate agent, uh, to a guide as well - Sports Coach. There's so many jobs as this podcast has shown cause I've interviewed so many people where voice is just an important part of the job.

Now all of the above, there's a fair bit of crossover isn't there, but you may also want to speak to the media, have the confidence to do that. Have the confidence to speak up on clubhouse, right? Clubhouse is the new app, which is just audio. Do you have the courage to speak up on stage on clubhouse? And when you do, what does your voice say about you? Are you confident in the way? It sounds our voice really is the soundtrack to our personal brand.

And so you want to be happy with how it sounds. Don't we outside of that, you might just be really terrified of public speaking of any sort, or you might have some worries or qualms. How funny is that word qualms about your voice? Do you feel like you don't speak clearly enough? Do you feel like it's too nasal that you mumble too much? All of these things we're going to address in the course, we also talk about voice care. So I have some clients that work with me privately, who are actually losing their voice. They're getting pain and they they're losing it. And this isn't laryngitis. It's just happening to them. And believe me, you realize how important your voice is when you no longer have it. This is a really important asset for you to look after and protect. I do exercises every day. Speaking of which I should probably just have another sip of my voice tea while I'm podcasting. That is better. I was getting a little bit dry there, but our voice is something we want to protect. And look after again, my six-week voice make-over will help with that.

TWO: When does it start? TWO: When does it start?

The 8th of February. Monday, February 8th. So you haven't got long to join us.

THREE: How much time will it take?

I understand time is, uh, a pressure for a lot of people. Now, this is the great thing about this course. It is quality over quantity, quality over quantity and people who've done the course before often comment that they can't believe how little time it takes. So to give you an idea, I do two live master classes each week, Tuesday, 6:30 PM, Australian Eastern standard time, Queensland time, and also 11:00 AM on Saturdays. Now those master classes are repeats, essentially I'm live for both of them. So they're a little bit different depending on the questions, but it's the same topic. So you've got two opportunities to come live. If you can't come to either, they'd go in the timeline on the Facebook page, which you can catch up on.

So if you've got the half an hour master class and then the rest of the materials, it's maximum one hour a week, I reckon one hour a week, hardly anything at all. There is a little bit more if you are a premium member, but that is time that you are going to want because it's one-on-one time with me. And that leads me into the question about the investment.

FOUR: How much is it? Can I afford this?

Okay. So for the classic membership, joining my six week voice makeover, it's $497, $497. That's US dollars. And the GST is added if you’re an Aussie. When you think about it? That's less than $100 a week for a course that is life changing. It's going to change the way you approach public speaking for ever more. And your voice use it in so many different scenarios. It is going to be applicable in so many different areas.

I haven't talked about my voice. Of course, I've used it professionally as a TV reporter and a company spokesperson and what I do now, but it has been most important for me in those times outside of work, speaking at weddings, speaking at funerals, or just speaking up when random stuff happens to me in the street, right? Having the confidence to talk to strangers. I'm not saying go and talk to strangers, but you know what I mean, having the confidence to speak to anybody, this is what that course can do $497 for not just a professional skill, but a life skill. Oh, you know, I reckon it's pretty good. Now you also have the option to be a premium member. So for $997, less than a thousand dollars, you get everything in the make-over course. Plus two one-on-ones with me. We have half an hour in week, one and half an hour in week seven.

So it's a really great way I can hold you accountable. I can listen to your voice. We can work on anything that's particularly worrying you and me. My minimum spend for one-on-one coaching is about $500. And so it's a really good deal to be getting this one-on-one with the rest of the course. There's also two extra zoom calls. So the masterclasses are on Facebook, which means you can chat to me, but you can't speak it back to me. If you're a premium member, we have two calls in week three, where we can jump onto a call altogether and I can listen to you and give feedback to your voice directly. So that's the option $497 for classic and $997 for premium. Now, you know what? I know it's been a little bit of a tough, tough year, tough time. If you are listening to this podcast and you get to the checkout, you'll see there's a coupon code section. It's below the it's on the right hand side. If you're on your desktop, it's quite a small messaged me if you have any problems, but find where the coupon code goes in. And if you put in the coupon code podcast, P O D C A S T I'll take a hundred dollars off for you. So then it means the classic is not $497 it’s $397 and the premium is not $997 it’s $897. So that's with the code podcast.

FIVE: Do you need Facebook to do this course?

And the answer is yes, yes you do. Yeah, it is run on a Facebook page. I go live on Facebook. So yes, you do need a Facebook for this course. If you don't have it, don't agree with it. Don't want it. Anything like that? That's totally fine. That's the reason my members only membership is on a different platform. So if you'd like to work with me and Facebook's not your thing, then join the members only. Fantastic.

So to finish off, what I might just do is take you through the syllabus quickly. Week one is all about mindset. So in week one, we identify the thoughts, holding your voice back. We're going to shift your view of public speaking from fear and doubt to joy and gratitude. You're going to be wanting speaking opportunities.

We're going to create a positive mindset for speaking success. You're going to know what to do when that inner critic, that inner voice shows up. And by the end of week one, you are going to be able to confidently say, you love your voice. So that's week one mindset. Now week two, we call body. And this is where you understand the do's and don'ts of body language. You're going to learn how to release it, nervous tension in the body. I've got a few simple tips and tricks, hacks, whatever you like to call them to get good posture wherever you are. We're going to go through how to use gesture for charisma. I've got to be careful with how much I use gesture because I'm going to knock my tea over or knock the microphone over. Am I going to also go through how to create powerful presence on stage?

And this relates to both virtual stages and physical stages. So week one mindset, week two body. We haven't even made a sound yet. And by week three, we are still not making sound because week three is all about breathing. You're going to know how to use your breath, to calm speaking, anxiety, to stop those freakouts. You're going to be, know how to use your breath, to speak with fluency. You're going to understand how breathing is that key to confidence. We're going to go through some really simple breathing exercises that you can recall straight away in the moment when the nerves strike. And of course properly inspire your words because breathing in is also known as inspiration. Love it. By week four, we do make sound. And by the end of week four, you're going to be able to know how to speak from your heart.

Literally get the vocal vibrations behind the walls of your chest. You'll know how to warm up and strengthen your vocal chords. You're going to be able to avoid that screechy nasal, like this kind of tone or that kind of weird, pushed back tone. You're going to know how to avoid all of that. You're going to produce a powerful resonant voice. People are drawn to, they want to listen to their ears prick up when you talk, and you're going to deeply connect in with your own voice, this relationship between you and your voice is going to be very strong by week four. Then we hit week five clarity. This is all about speech. You're going to know how to speak with clarity and ease. We're going to reduce mumbling mashing and swallowing of the words. You're going to be able to really be understood in those audio.

Only situations like on the phone or clubhouse, or especially when you're speaking to somebody where you don't share that first native language. You'll speak with finesse and precision, and you'll be able to confidently warm up before speaking. So I'll be sharing some really good warmup tips in week five. Then we get to week six expression. You're going to be able to animate your face and your voice to engage an audience confidently, vary the pitch, pace and volume of your voice. You're going to be able to open your mind to expressive devices outside your voice. What else can you bring in here? I'm going to be sharing my famous marketing key. So you can add delivery cues to your words. Like you actually can annotate it. Like you're writing music to lyrics. People love this, and you can steal the stagecraft secrets of pro speakers like myself.

Again, this is for stages, both virtually and physical. So there is so many fantastic takeaways in the course mindset, body breathing, buzz, clarity and expression. And by the end of it, you will really feel like you've had a proper, proper make-over. And that's why it's called my six week of voice. Make-over.
