Four ways to sound less “scripted”
Does the thought of speaking without a script freak you out? But you don’t want to sound wooden and robotic and like you’re reading every word?
Here are four ways to sound less “scripted” (and it doesn’t mean you have to get rid of the paper).
1. Write the way you speak: Use your language, your filler words, your quirky phrases when you’re preparing your words.
2. Partially script: Rather than the full script create an outline and use a mix of dot points and full sentences.
3. Swap scripts for structures: Write in the masculine – give yourself structure, so you can deliver in the feminine – speak with freedom and flow … and sound natural. For more on this download my free ebook “What to say when you don’t know what to say” - https://www.sallyprosser.online/wts-ebook
4. Use vocal variation: Vary the pitch, pace and volume of your voice to match the meaning of the words. Get out of Monotone Town!
Do you use a script? Yes or no?
