Want an audience to invest in you?
Make this one speaking switch.
Neuroscience shows people decide on emotion and justify with logic.
Yet so many speakers keep their language completely in the intellectual in a bid to persuade.
Using a voice stuck up in the head, with no heart resonance.
It's 100% numbers and high-level overviews with nothing that creates a picture in the audience's mind.
If you can't create a picture, you can't stir an emotion.
And if you can't stir an emotion, you won't move people to action.
So shift from speaking to make sense and speak to create a sense.
Some things to consider:
Use descriptive language that paints a picture.
Speak from the lower energetic centres in your body (the heart and solar plexus).
Include specific stories not just high-level overviews
Call out emotions in your words.
Use rhetorical questions to stir an emotional response.
The added bonus .... emotion-centred, story-led content is so much easier to memorise!
