Which Chakra is holding your voice back?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word for WHEEL so you could think of your chakras like spinning discs of positive energy. When these wheels are blocked or stagnant it affects your ability to speak freely and confidently.

Often we associate the throat chakra with speaking – it is the energetic centre for self-expression, so it's super important - but it’s not the whole picture.

Let me briefly go through each of the main chakras and explain how to identify if you need to clear, balance or activate this energy to become a stronger speaker.

ROOT (base of spine)

  • You don’t feel safe or supported to speak up. You might be unsteady on your feet and rush your words because pausing feels uncomfortable.

SACRAL (lower abdomen)

  • The thought of public speaking or showing up online makes you feel flat and depressed and exhausted.

SOLAR PLEXUS (upper abdomen)

  • You doubt yourself and feel like you’re not good enough or worthy to be heard.

HEART (middle of the chest)

  • You’re closed off when you speak and find it hard to share vulnerably. You also might be highly sceptical of your audience and not see the best in them.

THROAT (throat)

  • You have trouble finding words or choke up completely. You may also have recurring sore throat issues.

THIRD-EYE (between the eyebrows)

  • You struggle to speak off-the-cuff and often lose your train of thought and forget what you’re talking about.

CROWN (top of the head)

  • You feel disconnected and isolated. You get stuck down in the detail of the speech rather than seeing the higher purpose.
