Hello. Hello. Welcome back to That Voice Podcast. Welcome. If you're here for the first time, you've landed on the final episode of the season. We've been going for 26 weeks, pretty much nonstop. Can you believe I have so much going on over the next few months, including an event in London, and then I'm doing a Vipasana, which is a 10-day silent course. So lots going on. Need to take a few weeks off the podcast. If you are a woman in Brisbane and you're listening to this podcast right now by choice, then you have to come to our Own the Room event on October 26th, right?

I'm hosting this with Annelise McCarthy, another speaking coach. It's going to be a fabulous night where you walk away with new connections, newfound confidence, and really practical skills to help you become a better communicator. And my new favorite quote is, the best communicator wins. And you know, you pop that phrase across business, across workplaces, across families, relationships, and it really rings true. The best communicator wins. I invest heavily into my own communication skills and I'm a communications professional. So come along to this event. If you're a woman in Brisbane, it's super welcoming. We promise not to make it awkward. That's for women in Brisbane, October 26th. Now, if you are in the UK and you are a business owner, then come along to my Speak Up for Your Business workshop on October 31. So this is where you'll learn how to confidently talk about who you are and what you do.

And we're gonna be workshopping those niggling mindset barriers that pop up. You know, things like, oh, I don't wanna sound stupid, or I'm a behind-the-scenes person, or who wants to listen to me? We're gonna work through all of that and have a really great afternoon. So that is Speak Up for Your Business in London on October 31st. If you can't make either of these events, but you want to use your voice in a more impactful way, then start off by grabbing my Make Money While You Speak Challenge. It's only $47. And all of those links are in the show notes. So I often have people tell me they feel a block, like a block in their throat chakra, some resistance with speaking. And this is something that does need a one-on-one session to fully understand your situation. And also, you know, in one-on-one, I can can hear your voice.

I'm listening to the breath flow, the tone, the inflections, the emphasis, the word choice, all of those things help me get to the breakthrough you need. And I use a range of modalities from voice production exercises to NLP Neurolinguistic Programming, hypnosis, good old fashioned coaching questions. I have 20 plus years of knowledge and experience with people. And there's the energetics I use also as I'm deeply tapped into my intuition when it comes to speaking blocks. So if you are feeling blocked and you want that experience, then get in touch about a one-on-one session to see if I have availability. As I mentioned, the end of the year is looking a bit crazy, however, I love working one-on-one, so please get in touch. There's also lots that can be done in Soul Speakers as well. So with that in mind, please know this podcast is general advice. It's not a one size, fits all. And I'm gonna take you through three ways you can identify a speaking block and work to clear it. Remember, you can do all your healing yourself, you have the resources, okay? Coaching is just there to help you reach your own answers that are within you. So the first lens I wanna look at today is the physical right? Your physical body issues live in the tissues, the body keeps the score. So if you are feeling a blockage, where is it?

What's the position? Can you put your hand in the area? Is it in your throat, your chest, your tummy, your head? Once you have a location, let's get a visual. What color is it? Don't overthink it. First thing that comes to mind, is it black? Is it blue? Is it gray, red? What color? What shape is it? Is it a ball, a square, a jagged sea urchin type thing? Is it heavy? Is it light? Right. We've got a position, we've got a visual, we've got a sense of the density. Now, if you're not getting anywhere with this in terms of location, shape, color, is the blockage even there? It could be what I call a phantom block where someone is so convinced they have a blockage because one reiki session that came up or there's a repeating story that your whole life, your voice has been blocked.

You know, sometimes there just isn't anything to say. It might be time for reflection rather than production. A clear energetic channel is not the same thing as a fast flowing tap of speaking and content creating that cannot stop. Alright, so I'm bouncing around a little here, which is another reason why for this kind of work, you do need to invest and get attention 100% on you. So after you've got your visual on the block, where is it? What color is it? What shape is it? What weight is it? What emotion is it? In my line of work, fear is the most common, but it could be any emotion. Only you know.

Now you can see it. Can you move it? Visualize the shape. Moving up the windpipe and releasing out the mouth. For this, you need to vocalize. What sound does that shape want to make? Let it out. Watch it fly to the floor or plummet out a window. So that's the first way. The physical, and this isn't always the order. In a private session, I can read where to start first. Next is mental. We're gonna check in with the mind and the heart. So let me ask you, is there something you need to say to somebody? Is there an issue? You are holding your tongue over and it's eating you inside. Do you look at other people out there sharing their voice and feel pangs of jealousy or judgment?

Let's explore that. Do you feel that your voice is important? Does the thought of sharing your voice feel expansive or constrictive? What is it about public speaking or making videos online that make you feel the way you do? What happened when you were a kid to make you doubt your voice? Now of course these questions are just some examples of how to delve into your mindset around speaking. And this is a great place to tease loose the knots that grip you. So if you've got a block, you need to feel it, you need to talk about it, you need to think about it. You've got the physical, the mental. And I also like to delve into the spiritual. I'm a holistic coach. We come at it from all angles and there are lots of different spiritual practices and principles you can bring in. Dharma work is very important here.

What is your soul's purpose? If you wanna speak from your soul and feel charged in energy rather than depleted in energy, it's essential to discover, live out and speak out your purpose here on earth. And if you are not sure what your purpose is for the love of goddesses, invest in finding out is there any more important work on this land than to get to the bottom of why on earth you are here. So with some clients, I'm called to pull a card. I have lots of different decks, including tarot and oracle cards. I'm a big believer that the cards do not lie and they spark thought processes and conversations that need to be had. If you have a relationship with your guides and your higher self, this is very useful to work through any resistance or blockages in the body. And meditation is the best way if you ask me to grow these relationships with your guides and your higher self. And just approaching voice and public speaking through a spiritual lens will open your channel up and clear that blockage. You know, often that restrictive feeling takes over when you're stuck firmly in the three D and worrying about very trivial things like, Oh, what will Barbara from HR think about how I said um and ah, and I could see Bill snickering because the PowerPoint clicker didn't work. Oh my goodness, let's get out of this kind of vibration. Stepping back into the awareness that you are a spiritual being, having a human experience and your voice is yours, a beautiful channel to express yourself on this planet. Oh, feel the gratitude roll in like a wave.

And I am so grateful for you tuning into That Voice Podcast. You are the reason I keep putting these episodes out. And if you haven't left a review, please take the time to do that. I'd like to end this episode and this season with a beautiful throat opening exercise, right? It's a great throat opening exercise and also a great voice warmup. And there are four parts to this. So step one is to release tension in the neck. So tilt your neck from side to side, giving it a little stretch, roll around the middle, always towards the front watch, rolling around the back. You might do some damage. So just gentle stretching of the neck. Now the second thing you're going to do is breathe in and visualize the neck expanding sideways with the color blue. Like a beautiful blue cloud is coming sideways from your neck as you breathe in. So it's a breath in. Oh feel that expansion and a nice breath out. Now the third step, we're going to hum on the exhale, right? Hum on the breath out. So we're going to breathe in, visualize that neck expanding, and then hum. Really get that beautiful humming sensation. Then the final step, step four, we're going to open that up into ma. Okay? So it's the same thing, but this time opening, the jaw breath in, visualizing the neck expanding. And ma, and what you wanna hear is no crackles, no crackles, just that beautiful stream, the air Flowing out just like water. Amazing. So there you go. Three ways you can clear a voice block. Physically, mentally, and spiritually. Catch up on some episodes over the break and we'll be back with a cheeky little rebrand and a whole lot of wisdom from my 10-day silent course in just a few weeks.
