197. My Mindblowing Vocal Analysis
Your voice is a combination of how you think and feel at that time. When you speak about something you are passionate or excited about, those words carry a measurable energy.
And now there is technology to SEE that come to life.
I travelled to a place called The Reality Center in California to experience a Vocal Analysis first-hand with Tarun Raj.
In this episode Tarun and I explore the process, revealing -
π€ What is a voice analysis?
π€ The shifts that happen when you break the voice down to its essence.
π€ Why your own voice is the best medicine.
π€ How this technology can tell us things about ourselves we don't realise intellectually.
π€ How couples can be voice compatible.

Finally, I am sharing the magic of what I experienced in LA at the Reality Center earlier this year. It is pretty cool. Hold onto your hats so they capture the vibration of your words and turn them into biofeedback data. What does that mean? It means you get a visual representation on a computer screen of your voice. The representation not just holds the words you say, but the intention behind them. Where are the words coming from? And then it is transformed into a healing vibration that's of your own, making your own voice becomes your medicine, your medicine for healing, your medicine For manifestations, it is pretty cool. I first learned about the Reality Center through a documentary I was watching on Gaia. So Gaia is like Netflix for spiritual content and as a voice coach who takes a holistic approach, you know, I believe our voice is an energetic channel, which reflects our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being at any given time.
You know, it's a channel for expression and a vehicle for healing. And by the way, you know, this is the approach we take in Soul Speakers, my group program, which is why the shifts are so profound. The link for Soul Speakers is in the show notes. Go and check it out. So with all that in mind, this vocal analysis, a process that analyzes the specific frequencies and colors of your voice was something I had to experience firsthand. And of course, Patrick came along to LA as well because he's amazing and we love traveling together. Oh gosh, it was such a good trip. You know, we got the snow in Yosemite and the sunsets in Napa. And as an added bonus, Patrick was able to do the vocal analysis completely without expectation or prior knowledge of anything. So he was kind of a test case.
And the results Patrick got in relation to the results I got, whoa, trippy. You'll hear more about it. In this episode, I chat to the wonderful and wise Tarun Raj, who looked after us on the day and is the president of the Reality Center where this world leading work is happening. Tarun explains what the vocal analysis is, why your voice is the best medicine, how this process can teach us things about our inner knowings that aren't clear on the surface, helps us tap into our intuition. This certainly happened with me and my favorite point was how this process is helping people who've never liked the sound of their voice fall in love with it. This episode number 197 of That Voice Podcast will nourish your soul, expand your mind, and help you discover another layer of the powerful potential of your voice.
Sally:
Tarun Raj, welcome to That Voice Podcast. So great to have you on the show.
Tarun:
Thank you so much for having me. It's great to see you again.
Sally:
Yeah. So the last time that I saw you, I was in Santa Monica in your beautiful reality center, and I underwent a, underwent a vocal analysis. So share with us what it was.
Tarun:
You got to experience the voice analysis, and that is where we look at the frequencies and the harmonies in your voice and we break it down into its correlated colors and musical keys based on the fundamental frequencies. So breaking the vibration of your voice into essentially its essence, the lowest frequency that has the most harmonics. And so that gives us a great idea of the balance that might be in your voice, because that voice is a combination of how you think your brainwaves, how you feel, your heart rate, your vagus nerve, all this intelligence that is coming from your body. And by allowing us to visualize what these vibrations are as you speak about the things that you love, we can take a snapshot of that unique vibration and play it back to you. And so that's the form of biofeedback that is really powerful because you're creating your own medicine.
Sally:
Mm. It's so fascinating. And why is it more powerful for your own frequencies to be played back to you than say somebody else talking to you?
Tarun:
Each of our organs, each of our parts of the body are unique to us. They're different size, they're different density. And so it's hard to say that any one frequency, which is almost like a laser beam, that's just one specific target that that can encompass the entirety of humanity. So when we get the opportunity to personalize it to somebody, especially when they know they're co-creating it, not only does it have that added value of that person knowing that they're taking part in creating this experience, but it also gives us better data because over time we can see how their voice changes as they're talking about that particular topic or even using a particular word.
Sally:
Yeah, it was so fascinating when I did it. The higher colors were really strong and the lower ones not so much. And you were saying that looking at the chart, looking at the data, it can often tell us things about ourselves that we don't even know.
Tarun:
Yes. So we look at the top, the purple, those, that's a high frequency. So like ultraviolet for example. Whereas the low frequencies are the red at the bottom, the F sharp, that is more of like the vibration of the earth. So our feet, right? So from our feet to the tops of our head, the high vibrations and frequency of our brains versus the lower vibrations of what grounds us to the earth and all the space in between. So looking at your chart, we are able to see a great deal of information in your chart, which showed that you are highly analytical, that you are able to understand a lot of high concepts. You may have preference towards meditation and spiritual subjects just because you have that ability to tap into a realm of possibilities, right? So usually people who have a lot of energy in the top part there, they can also be in their head a lot, right?
Tarun:
Over analyzing things. And so what we wanna do is move that energy down, slow it down, and so we're able to take the time to feel it. And so that's the practice through using the voice, but also the breath and the heart. So as those things speed up, then we're highly active. And if they're too fast for the situation, that might make us anxious. And so when the heart slows down, when the breath slows down in the brain, that brings us to rest. And when we're sleeping, we're in deep delta sleep, we have a very, very low brainwave which is close to zero, right? And oftentimes you hear people be like, oh, that's a, those are low vibrations. You gotta raise the vibration. And you know, high vibes. Well, high vibes, yes. That is more of an opportunity to connect to these higher realms of thought, right? The quantum possibilities are brainwaves and consciousness, but sometimes that's not useful to us if we're disconnected from the physical. And so using these tools to show, hey, I have an opportunity to ground myself, to slow down, to feel it in order to heal it as they say, in order to feel more balance. So then I can utilize my superpower of being in a high cognitive state oftentimes more effectively.
Sally:
Oh, it's so fascinating. And so in my interest area, what was so wild was when Patrick did the vocal analysis, his chart was almost a lock and key fit with mine. Tarun, is that something that you see often in couples?
Tarun:
All the time. So we attract those things that we need in our lives, right? Oftentimes it might be something that we can see on the surface level, but as we get to know over time, it is more of that emotional connection. And if we're lucky that spiritual connection. And so when people go through this process, especially as partners, whether it's romantic partners, business partners, the proper balance is seen through their voice and how Patrick is very grounded and practical and you know, also very strong silent type in this situation where whereas you have the podcast and you teach people about voice and you're talking about consciousness and all these things. So it creates this perfect safety in which you can sort of float off into that space where you feel comfortable and you have somebody as an anchor, right, as your partner. And then you also on the other side of things, he has somebody to expand his possibilities and you know, keep him open-minded and experiencing new things like reality center.
Sally:
Yeah, it was exactly the perfect read on our relationship. So interesting.
I know this episode is good and so are my Pep Talks in Your Pocket. These short audio tracks tell you exactly what you need to hear before speaking. So there's one to calm your nerves, one to warm up your voice, get your breathing under control, and ditch the self-doubt that can creep in. So many of my clients have said, Sal, I so wish I had you in my ear before speaking. Well, now you can, it's like the ultimate hype girl right when you need it. And these are 100% free to download and keep forever. So you can have them handy before your next speech presentation meet or hitting record on the video. The link is in the show notes. Or head to my website sallyprosser.com.au and you'll see the link again. Back to the episode.
Sally:
Tarun, what got you into this line of work? How did you find this and, and what lights you up about it?
Tarun:
What really lights me up about this is honestly getting to work with people and, and observe and be part of this shift towards a more positive state. That's what got me into it, was searching for something to help myself and the people around me. You know, I started my healing journey almost 20 years ago, learning reiki and different ways to regulate my nervous system, yoga, martial arts. I tried everything after I had my career in arts and entertainment. I met somebody who had created some incredibly profound technology that uses the voice in order to generate this incredible audiovisual feedback. And that's Don Estes and he's now one of our partners.
Sally:
Yeah, I met him when I was there.
Tarun:
Yeah, exactly. So that was one of, that was almost 10 years ago. So working with him over time to amplify the message and get this out to a larger audience, that's the reason why we opened Reality Center. And since then we've been advancing the technology and making it more able for people to get it from the comfort of them ho their homes and make it more of a mainstream modality. Because if you can help somebody heal through just merely electricity, then that's something that everybody should have access to.
Sally:
It's so great. And I did go over to Santa Monica for an in-person experience, however, before that we did a session online, which was very powerful as well.
Tarun:
It can be tremendously powerful just to have that awareness and be able to have that tool wherever you are, because that's really when you need it. You have something that you can use and that will help you shift. And you don't have to travel elsewhere. We believe here that you are on the medicine, you have everything that you need. We just need to become aware of that sometimes be reminded of that. And once our app comes out, that's gonna be a lot easier.
Sally:
Oh, that's exciting.
Tarun:
So we're putting a lot of these things into an app and some hardware that you can take home with you much more conveniently than coming to Santa Monica. Although I do highly recommend if you can get to Reality Center.
Sally:
Beautiful place too.
Tarun:
You should. It is. Yeah. Right by the beach and our little cave of wonders.
Sally:
Yeah. And in the time that you've been doing the vocal analysis, what's the most extraordinary shift that you've noticed with, with anybody?
Tarun:
When someone has self-realization, when they understand that what they really want can be as simple as just feeling a sense of safety or being free or open or at peace, because we ask them to visualize their happy place. And most of the time folks are like, oh, well I need more money or security, or I want this new car or a house, or a lot of tangible things, right? But after doing this with thousands of people, there's very few who don't just want these core basic things, and that's freedom, safety, peace, and calm. That's just a beautiful thing to witness because there's a realization that comes with that and be like, Wow, I don't need all these other things. I don't need to be distracted. I have it all within myself and I can really envision that and slow down.
Sally:
Oh, Tarun, I love that recurring theme around we have all the answers, we have the medicine, it's within us, and it's within our voice.
Tarun:
Yeah, that's beautiful. One more thing that I'll say that is a gift here is when people often don't like the sound of their voice. And in this setting, for whatever reason, I think it's because they're speaking their truth. When they're talking about what you love from a very calm state, that is your truth coming out. That is your real voice. And people fall in love with their voice in those moments. They realize that this is who I am and they're able to change it and really find the most resonant parts of themselves by observing the visual and audio feedback.
Sally:
Yeah. Finding the most resonant part of themselves, the most resonant part of their voice. I love that. And so if people are listening, how can they find you and work with you and experience this for themselves?
Tarun:
So you can just come to realitymgmt.com and book a online session in which myself or one of my reality managers will guide you through that experience. And it's very powerful. It's a tool that once you use it once you can use it for many different situations. Delta will help you sleep, theta will help you meditate or visualize. Alpha will help you manifest and focus beta will activate you tremendously. And Gamma, they're using for things like Alzheimer's and neurogenesis. So there's a lot of different things that just Simple vibration can do. And when you tune it with the power of your own voice, there's a lot of magic.
Sally:
Oh, it's so interesting. And I love that you talk about attainment, instead of entertainment.
Tarun:
If you give somebody the opportunity to play or something novel that they've never experienced before, that is one of the greatest anti-aging tools that you can get is showing somebody that may be hard to impress, may have seen it all, something new, novel, powerful that feels like entertainment, that feels like fun. And then underneath is advanced neuroscience biotechnology that can actually shift you. It's a lot easier to get people in the door when we're not wearing lab coats, when we don't seem like a medical clinic. And we're just your peers. We're here on the journey with you. We just have a little bit more experience.
Sally:
Oh, it's a really cool place. It's really dark and there's lots of cool lights. And yeah, I have, I've got got some footage, which I'll share when we are talking about this episode. Oh, Tarun. I could listen to your voice all day. You have such a beautiful resonant voice to listen to. Is there anything you'd like to leave us with?
Tarun:
I didn't always use to like my voice, but in deciding to choose what you really want to do, aligning with your purpose, your truth comes out. And if your truth is meant for others, they will hear you in the way that they're meant to. You'll fall in love with yourself and your truth. And that's really what it's all about. Then when we become aware of where we're strong and where we're not so strong, we can tune that and we can become the most balanced and beautiful song that our human instrument is meant to play.
Sally:
Oh, Tarun, so beautiful. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I'm so glad that I found you. Thank you so much for the time that you took when Patrick and I were over there. It was absolutely a fantastic experience, and thank you so much for sharing your wisdom here on that Voice podcast.
Tarun:
Oh, my pleasure. It was so good to meet you both and looking forward to seeing you soon.
