5 quick speechwriting hacks
Great speakers write great speeches.
Here are 5 quick speechwriting hacks you can check off your list:
1. Use Quotable Quotes: Short, catchy key messages that could go on a coffee mug. These aren’t other people’s quotes – they’re YOURS.
2. Use Short Sentences: If it feels long-winded to say - rewrite it. Eg. turn one long sentence into three short ones. You don’t want your point hidden under the weight of waffle.
3. Finish Sentences Strong: Look at the quality of the final word of each sentence. Avoid weak words like in and of. Eg. “I’m excited to be part of this project”, instead of “it’s an exciting project to be part of.”
4. Use Metaphors: The secret sauce! Using metaphors takes your speech from black and white to full 3D technicolour.
5. Tell Stories: This is a no-brainer. People remember stories over facts every time and stories make you more trustworthy. Want my story framework people rave about? Download my free E-Book: https://www.sallyprosser.online/wts-ebook
