How to introduce yourself with confidence
Can you introduce yourself?
Does that question make you want to sink into the floor?
First impressions last, so whether you’re at a networking event, a meeting or on a podcast, your introduction is a big opportunity, so you want to get it right.
Here are three practical things you can do with your voice, your word structure and your body language to make a great introduction.
1. Voice: When you introduce yourself, say your name with conviction. Give separate emphasis to your first name and your last name so they don't blend together.
2. Structure: Think about your intro in three parts. The first one is your name. The second one is your title or the job you do. And the third one is a little anecdote, a story or example.
3. Body Language: A smile on the face puts a smile in the voice. It will help you feel more relaxed and is catching for your audience. Remember to smile with your eyes.
